I’m so glad you’ve joined me here!

The first painting I’d like to share with you is my latest – this is “Teapot, Teacup, Walnuts”.

Like most of my paintings, it draws the viewer into a calm, still place – in this case, the moment before sitting down to a cup of tea, with the quiet contemplation it often brings.

The dramatic lighting for this composition was a big inspiration.  The strong light coming from above created some beautiful effects – like the light bouncing off the saucer and back onto the teacup – as well as some delicate reflections on the red teapot.

It grew out of a series of similar pieces I did a few years ago, including this one (yes, it is the same teapot and knife!):

“Oranges, Silver, and Red Teapot”, oil on linen, 9×12 inches, 2017

“Teapot, Teacup, Walnuts” is done with oil on linen on panel, measures 11×14 inches, and is presented in a beautiful silver-leaf traditional frame.  This painting is available.

Next, I’d like to continue with another tea-themed painting, and a quote from one of my favorite books.

If you would prefer to see all of the paintings in the show at once, you can skip ahead to the gallery page.
